About the Tour
Seven days. Two countries. Several mountains. One river you remember for the rest of your life.
This tour begins where everything begins — on Maglić, the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It continues through mountain homesteads where people still live without electricity or signal, through Hrčavka canyon and Perućica rainforest, down the Tara river with skippers who know it like their own home, to Durmitor and the ring road that ranks among the finest drives in the Balkans.
This is not a tour for those who want a hotel and a minute-by-minute programme. This is a tour for those who want to feel the landscape — all of it. Mountain, river, canyon and rainforest. Petar is with you for all seven days, and he knows every detail of this terrain — he is a licensed guide and skipper with over ten years of experience on the Tara.
Transport to Foča is arranged separately — we organise transfers from Belgrade, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Podgorica, Zagreb and Tirana by arrangement, not included in the price.
Highlights
Itinerary
The group meets in Foča and we drive in off-road vehicles to Prijevor at around 1,520m. While the camping equipment is transported to Trnovačko Lake, we set off on the ascent to Maglić.
The climb takes around 3.5 to 4 hours and is physically demanding. We move at a controlled pace with breaks and lunch packs. The view from the summit — Zelengora, Volujak, Lebršnik, Treskavica and the Adriatic in the distance — is a reward that justifies every step.
From the summit we descend to Trnovačko Lake, where the camp and dinner await. Evening by the fire on the shore of one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Balkans. No signal, no phones — just the fire, the group and the silence of the mountain.
