Why Preparation Matters
Sutjeska National Park is wild, unspoiled nature with challenging terrain and unpredictable weather. The right gear and preparation can be the difference between an unforgettable experience and a difficult situation. Whether you are planning a day hike or a multi-day adventure, preparation is everything.
Footwear
Hiking boots are absolutely essential. Look for boots that:
- Have good grip on both wet and dry surfaces
- Provide ankle support (high-cut)
- Are waterproof yet breathable
- Are comfortable for long days on your feet
Avoid trainers or casual shoes — the terrain in Sutjeska NP is demanding and requires proper footwear.
